01
Information
We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the SCOUTD platform and provide you with a meaningful experience. This includes:
- Account information — Your email address, password (stored in encrypted form), and the account type you select (Model or Agency).
- Profile information — Photos, portfolio images, physical measurements, location, biography, style categories, and professional experience that you voluntarily add to your profile.
- Platform activity — Records of swipes, matches, and message metadata (not message content) used to power our matching algorithm.
- Communication data — Messages exchanged between matched users, stored securely on our servers to enable in-app communication.
- Technical data — IP address, device type, browser version, and session data collected automatically to maintain platform security and performance.
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial data, government-issued ID numbers, or biometric data. We do not sell your information to third parties.
02
How We Use
Your Data
Your information is used exclusively to operate, improve, and secure the SCOUTD platform. Specifically:
- Profile matching — Your profile data powers our discovery feed, allowing agencies to find you and vice versa based on relevant criteria.
- Swipe-based matching — Platform activity (likes, passes) is used to establish mutual interest and facilitate connections.
- In-app communication — Once a match is made, your contact details allow both parties to exchange messages through the platform.
- Service notifications — We send transactional emails (match alerts, new messages, account updates). You can manage notification preferences at any time.
- Platform improvement — Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve matching accuracy, interface design, and overall performance.
- Legal compliance — We may retain and disclose data where required by applicable law or a valid legal process.
We do not use your data for advertising profiling or share it with marketing platforms without your explicit consent.
03
Storage
& Security
SCOUTD uses Supabase as its primary backend infrastructure — a PostgreSQL-based platform with enterprise-grade security controls. Your data is handled as follows:
- Encryption in transit — All data exchanged between your device and our servers is encrypted via TLS 1.2 or higher (HTTPS).
- Encryption at rest — Stored data, including profile information and messages, is encrypted at the database level using AES-256.
- Access controls — Row-level security policies ensure that users can only access their own data. Internal access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
- Infrastructure — Supabase data centers are located in North America. We do not intentionally transfer personal data outside of Canada without your consent, except where required by law.
- Breach notification — In the event of a privacy incident affecting your data, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI) within 72 hours, as required by Loi 25.
While we implement robust security measures, no system is completely impenetrable. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
04
